Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a Hollywood writer and actress whose talent has earned her recognition as well as critical praise. She's a Sagittarius born on the 3rd of December 1960 in North Carolina. She is the oldest child of Peter Moore Smith a paratrooper, and Anne who is a psychology student. She's of English as well as Scottish origin. Her father was a professional who moved her family a lot. She struggled with making and keeping friends. When her family moved to Germany Moore went to Frankfurt American High School where she began appearing in plays. When she completed the requirements for her B.F.A. from Boston University in 1983, Moore continued to seek further training. In an episode of The Edge of Night in 1985, Moore made her first on-screen appearance. Her break came in 1986 when she played the roles of Sabrina Hughes as well as Frannie Hughes on As the World turns. She was on this show until 1988 and won an Daytime Emmy Award for her performance. Her film debut came in 1990 when she starred in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which she later described as an awful low-budget film. Short Cuts (1997) and 3 Women (1993), both Robert Altman productions, were her first film. Her role in critically acclaimed Short Cuts (1993) earned her several nominations. Moore had her debut main part in Safe(1995). Steven Spielberg's choice to cast Moore as the lead in Jurassic Park: The Lost World which was one of the top grossing films of 1997, was a significant turning point for Moore's career. She received a SAG award nomination for Magnolia in 1999. The Hours, a 2002 film that she co-starred in alongside Nicole Kidman and Meryl Strreep was nominated for nine Academy Awards. Moore has also been seen in The Forgotten (2003), Freedomland (2005), Shelter (2010) along with a host of others. Non-Stop aired in the year 2014. Moore was a regular on many films and television shows. Moore's most recent role as a leading actress is in When You Finish saving the World (2022). In Hollywood as well, she has made herself a writer for children. She released her first book Freckleface Strawberry (2007) and became an N.Y.T. bestseller. The book was a huge best selling book, then adapted to a television series and musical. Moore also published My Mom is Foreigner in 2013, an autobiography in 2013. A well-respected actress and author Moore's personal life is public domain. She was married in 1984 to John Robin and in 1995 the couple divorced. Bart Freundlich is the father of two of her children. Moore's main focus is her family, friends and career.
